Greek Salad

There are lots of variations of what we call Greek Salad. The most common way to prepare a Greek salad is:

  • 1/2 a head of round lettuce (sliced fine or coarse , depends your preference).
  • 1 large tomato sliced Julianne style.
  • 1/4 or 1/2 of yellow or red onion
  • 1 cucumber sliced
  • 3 - 4 , 1 inch wide pieces of feta cheese (Dodoni feta is a great type of feta)
  • 5-6 Kalamata olives.

Up to this point is the common Greek salad.

Now if you like green or red peppers you may add those also.
You may also add sliced celery, sliced boiled eggs, anchovies, or any kind of salami, mortadela, or sliced roast beef, turkey or grilled chicken and make a complete low calorie dish out of it.
